Welcome to My Front Porch
Hi, friend. I'm so glad you stopped by.
My name is Marcia, and I'm the heart behind The Oklahoma Homestead Woman. This little corner of the internet is where I'll share the joys, lessons, and sometimes the challenges of building a simple homestead in Oklahoma.
I'm not here to tell you that I know everything. I'm still learning every day. Some days things go exactly as planned, and other days the chickens remind me they have ideas of their own. The garden teaches patience, the flowers remind me to slow down, and every season brings something new to learn.
Here you'll find stories from everyday life on the homestead, updates on my chickens, ducks, and garden, recipes from my kitchen, food preservation tips, and projects that I'm working on. I'll also share the little victories, the funny moments, and the lessons that don't always make it onto social media.
One thing you'll learn about me is that I believe home isn't about having the biggest farm or the fanciest equipment. It's about making the best of where you are, caring for what you've been given, and finding joy in the simple things.
My favorite reminder is:
"Bloom Where You're Planted... and if life moves you, bloom there too."
That simple thought has carried me through many seasons of life, and I hope it encourages you too.
So pull up a chair, stay awhile, and join me as we build this little homestead together—one chicken, one garden bed, one recipe, and one story at a time.
Welcome to my front porch.
— Marcia
